How do I ensure that I will receive my Points for a purchase?

You can ensure that you'll receive purchase Points by doing the following:

  • 1. Always visit and click on the merchant you wish to purchase with.
  • 2. Immediately make your purchase before doing anything else, as the merchants will track you as being from MyPoints for only a short time (usually it tracks as long as you do not close the browser window or navigate away from that merchant's web site.)
  • 3. Only use coupon codes provided by MyPoints, as coupon codes from other sites may disrupt our tracking. If this happens your purchase will not be tracked as a MyPoints purchase and therefore will not be eligible for Points.

How long does it take to see the Points for a purchase in my account statement?

It may take up to 30 days to see purchase Points reflected in your account statement due to partner merchant reporting (i.e. company purchases via MyPoints) at varying intervals. Many, but not all, partner merchants report purchasing data within 2-5 business days. However travel purchases such as air, hotel and car may not post to your account until 30 days following use of services. Once your purchase has been reported to MyPoints, Point data is posted to your account and will be in a pending state for 30 days from the post date (not the purchase date). If after 30 days from the purchase date you still do not see the Points in your account, please click on the activity in question in your Account Statement and follow the instructions on how to contact Member Services.

How do I earn Points in the MyPoints Program?

You can earn Points in a bunch of ways. For example:

  • Shopping online, using our site as a starting point
  • Clicking on emails we send out on behalf of our partners
  • Booking travel with the sites you already trust
  • Using the MyPoints® Rewards Visa® credit card
  • Taking surveys
  • Playing online games

How is MyPoints able to identify my transactions and make sure my Points are awarded properly?

The MyPoints program uses cookies to track your shopping and other activities, so your browsers have to be set to accept third party cookies. That's how the MyPoints recognizes you when you sign in. This also allows us to personalize the website to your interests, lets you access your account information, and helps us keep track of your activity on our site. When you leave our site to shop on one of our partners' sites or to learn more about a merchant offer, a tool called a merchant aggregator will set a tracking cookie on your browser. This tracking cookie identifies you as a MyPoints member to the merchant partner so that when you make a purchase, they know to report it back to MyPoints and we know to credit your account with Points.

What do I do if I forget my password or need to create a new one?

Click on the "Forgot password" link that appears on the "Sign In" page. Enter the email address and zip code associated with your account and click "Submit." Once you've done that, MyPoints will send you a Reset Password email. Click on the link within this email and you'll be taken to the Reset Password page. Create a new password and you'll be ready to sign in.

Will I earn Points for buying gift cards from MyPoints merchants?

Unless specifically stated in the offer details, you won't earn Points for gift card or gift certificate purchases.

What does it mean when I see the words (Once), (Daily) and (Monthly)?

These are terms that are sometimes used to describe how often you can get a Point award:

  • (Once): MyPoints members can only earn Points for this offer once; you can make more purchases or transactions made through this offer, but they will not get you any more Points.
  • (Daily): MyPoints members can earn Points for this offer once a day. As soon as the calendar flips to the next day (at midnight Pacific Standard Time), you can earn Points for this offer all over again.
  • (Monthly): MyPoints members can earn Points for this offer once a month; any purchases or transactions made through this offer in the same calendar month won't get you any more Points.
If no frequency is mentioned with an offer, then the offer has no limit.

Do MyPoints Points expire?

Your Points will expire only if you are inactive for a period of 12 consecutive months. Please see the MyPoints Terms of Service for our definition of inactivity.

How can I ensure that the Points I have won't expire?

Your Points will not expire as long as you do one of the following within a period of 12 consecutive months: website visit, email response (clickthru), survey completion, profile update or any Point-earning or spending transaction.
