How do I make sure my eBay purchases are tracked by MyPoints?
Always go through MyPoints to make your bid if you want to earn Points. eBay will not recognize you as a MyPoints member if you go directly to eBay or click through to eBay from another site (such as an auction sniping site).
When you click on a MyPoints link to eBay, a Clickthru is created in your Account Statement, and eBay remembers (via a cookie) that your bid was made through MyPoints. However, this cookie only lasts seven days. If your auction lasts for more than seven days,be sure to check in on your auction by clicking through MyPoints at some point after the first seven days to re-activate your cookie (and remind eBay that you're a MyPoints member). You should also adjust your privacy settings to allow 3rd party cookies. This will ensure you receive your Points.
If I'm outbid in an auction, how can I place a higher bid and ensure that I will earn Points if I win?
If you receive notification that you have been outbid, you can either go directly to eBay.com (if you are still within 7 days of your initial bid) or click through a MyPoints link. Then you make your higher bid. If you click on an eBay link from any other source, including a non-MyPoints email, MyPoints will not be able to track your purchase and credit your Points.
What types of purchases on eBay qualify to receive Points?
You will receive 2 Points per dollar for every purchase you make, excluding ones made:
In the Real Estate category
In the Auto category
In the Travel category
Will I still earn Points if I use an auction-monitoring program (sniper tool or sniper site)?
No. Your Points will not be credited if you are using an auction-monitoring program or if you are using the eBay Toolbar to place your bids. Please disable these applications prior to responding to MyPoints offers.
How soon are Points credited to my account?
Points earned at eBay are credited to your account as soon as we receive confirmation of the transaction from eBay. This may take up to 30 days. Please note that Points are awarded for the subtotal of your purchase (not including tax and shipping).
What do I do if the Point total for an eBay purchase is missing or incorrect?
If the Points do not appear in your account within 30 days, go to your Account
Statement and click on the "Clickthru" for the eBay transaction(s) in question. A window will appear with a link that will allow you to directly submit an inquiry to MyPoints Member Services. Provide the following information as text in the box provided:
Your eBay username
The date of purchase
The item number (shown at the top right hand corner of the item page)
The purchase price of the item (not including taxes or shipping)
Please only include items that you have not properly received credit for.
